Entry 016: After School Schedule

Writer's picture: Lorna WellsLorna Wells

I don't know about y'all, but school has been off to a hectic start! Lol. We are already about half way in to this semester and it took me a bit to get my bearings. I hope I'm not the only one. My boys are still pretty young, but already they have a lot going on. It will only get worse as they grow and have more interests and activities. I didn't want to lose the peace in our home so I decided to make an after school activity schedule for the boys. I want them to get their homework, practicing, reading and showers done, but I also want them to have some free time to decompress and chill for a while. If you don't schedule rest, free time, family time, or date nights, guess what? It won't happen. So, I figured out a way to do it. I am sure I will be adjusting this from time to time, but I'll show you what we are currently using.

This helps me, the boys, and anyone we might have watching the boys know exactly what they should doing and when they should be doing it. This keeps us from losing our minds. If you take the few hours of time to organize and setup processes in your home that work for you, you will have a lot more peace and margin in your day.

Sometimes the schedule will get changed or we will improvise and that's okay! But, this helps us have a base line for our days. It keeps things flowing and helps keep us on track. We also have a meal plan and a menu board, but more on that in a future blog.

More organization tips coming soon! Have a wonderful, organized week.

Lean in to Life. It’s messy, but beautiful.

Much love,

LB

Hi there, thank you so much for your blog which really inspires me, as well as your family. First time on your blog today from Germany. I saw that you kids do karate, I used to do Karate, was nearly brown belt until the Holy Spirit convicted me. Something felt wrong in me when I had to bow down on the floor giving reverence to the sensei. The philosophy of karate also doesn’t align with my Christian faith. It costs me a lot as these were years of training but I decided to cut it off. If possible, please test and ask the Holy Spirit for yourself. Thank you
